Let's clean up the engine bay…

Give it a thorough cleaning!!

10.

Even though the engine bay is covered by the hood, dust and exhaust get in, and oil seeps from the engine, so it gradually gets dirty. If left alone, it can become so grimy you would not want to touch it with bare hands. A shiny body with a dirty engine bay looks pretty bad. When that happens, clean the engine bay and give it a refresh.

The Miata in the photo has dirt built up all over. The area around the engine is greasy with oil, and the underside of the hood is so black you can hardly tell what color it used to be. A thorough deep clean now will make future maintenance much easier. For everyday grime, wipe it down with a damp cloth and finish with a shine treatment.

17.

There are oil stains and dust buildup, and the underside of the hood is dirty, too.

It is blackened, and dirt has collected on the body as well.

A little effort makes it sparkle!

After cleaning, apply shine treatment to the plastic and rubber parts. In just a few hours, the engine bay can look glossy and refreshed like this!
