“That is the development concept behind JS! In Class 4, limited to engines under 2,000 cc, we are fighting hard against the Integra. The No. 69 S2000 really stands out. It is equipped with a full aero kit from J’S Racing, and our know-how has gone into everything from the rear wing to the bonnet. “Because it is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive car with a short wheelbase, it turns quickly and can be braked deep into corners. We build the car to use those strengths and keep rear traction on corner exit.” Mr. Umemoto points to the large rear wing. Contrary to the idea that a large wing on an S2000 only adds drag, the team achieved low drag and high downforce. Their detailed understanding of the body lets them direct airflow effectively over the rear wing. That hands-on know-how is put to work in S Parts.”
All cars race together for more than three hours. Across the eight-round series, entrants include the S2000, Lancer Evolution, Z, RX-7, Integra, Porsche, and others. Modification rules are limited, and parts generally must be commercially available or planned for sale. It is a “running laboratory” where leading Japanese performance-parts makers compete to develop new products.
It has undergone four minor revisions this year alone, and the current shape is the final form. This new aero package is scheduled for release in mid-June. The small duct at the right front makes a five-horsepower difference in peak output. The underwing extends as far as the oil pan. Its functional beauty comes from prioritizing airflow control beneath the car—and you can feel the passion for racing in it.

High-performance exterior parts developed without compromise! Racing aero keeps evolving.
In this new feature, we introduce notable machines from the D Car team competing in Super Taikyu…
…(racing) machines from D Car. We will explore what gives them their speed and looks, and how those ideas can be applied to street cars. The first feature is the J’S Racing S2000. J’S Racing representative Junichi Umemoto takes the wheel himself; we focus on the aero parts developed through feedback from the circuit to the street.

The suspension is by Mugen. The brake cockpit is designed to reduce fatigue during long drives. The rotor is by Delphi. The calipers were changed to Seidoya for strong braking. The seat is Bride; the steering wheel is Sparco.
The radiator, transmission and differential coolers are by M Racing. Their generous cooling capacity performs reliably even in summer.
A 3D wing that reduces drag and generates high downforce. Its adjustable variable-wing design is already well developed, yet continues to evolve!
