The cockpit is trimmed in deep crimson AAR leather bucket seats. It wears the 19-inch G-Games 77W two-piece wheels. Pillars and dashboard-mounted gauges set the mood, with red Brembo calipers visible beyond the spokes. Even the automatic shifter feels right in the cabin; a boost gauge and controller sit nearby. Part 1 — Headline of Gull Wing
A typical gullwing hinge first opens slightly outward, then swings upward. Dampers help with the lifting force. The key is to tuck them neatly inside the fender and find a pivot point that lets them work effectively.
Dampers support the doors—and the kits keep coming!

Gullwing trivia
Manual type
Most gullwing doors are fully manual. The damper’s position alone can make a big difference in how much force it takes to open or close them.
An automatic setup uses air-compressor pressure, as in systems announced by Universal Air.
Electric type
This is also automatic, but an electric motor opens and closes the doors. Electric gullwing systems from AiRii and RE Amemiya are well known.
A roundup of the latest gullwing kits, including shops with established conversion services even when they do not sell a packaged kit.
