Weld president Mr. Ito developed a tilt-up bonnet for the JZX100. His original ideas and skills honed in racing make for a complete, expertly built car! Note: despite appearances, he is not a scary person.

TILT-UP Part 03
It is drawing huge attention now!
Tilt-up
Kits are coming out, too
What is tilt-up? The bonnet…
Next up: tilt-up! Gullwing doors took the sport-compact scene by storm with their dramatic open-door look. So why not make the bonnet and trunk tilt up, too? That is 100% eye-catching—no, 200%!!

Gullwing plus tilt-up: a one-two combo! Gullwing doors are cool, but honestly, they do not turn heads like they used to. They became too popular. Maybe you went to all the trouble of installing them and now you are thinking, “Damn it…” There is something good for you, brother: tilt-up!
Tilt-up has a surprisingly long history in the American show-car scene. It has no practical use at all! If it is fun to look at, that is enough…

An English-Japanese dictionary says “TILT UP” means to tilt upward…
So what is tilt-up? It means a bonnet or trunk that opens by tilting at an angle. What, you say a normal hood already opens at an angle? You got me there. Never mind that.
Doors are not the only things that open. It is the age of total beauty: doors, bonnet, and trunk. Imagine all three opening together—now that feels complete! Gullwings are old news; tilt-up is next!
Weld’s staff gather around president Ito. On the left is Kan Oshima, a versatile expert; on the right is newcomer Yu Oda, who loves fried chicken from Three F.
