Good evening! I'm Naoto Oguri, the winner of the 1J Meeting held in Hokkaido. The HKS Tokachi Summer Festival took place at Tokachi Speedway, so I tried a makeover. Please feel free to use the photos. I own three X90 Mark IIs, and I've painted all of them orange. See you! Naoto Oguri. ★ Going from silver to orange is quite a makeover! You fitted a full aero kit, too. So last month's issue must have caught you right before the modifications, at the ‘please don't photograph me’ moment? Was there no drift competition at the summer festival? If you get three wins in Hokkaido, maybe we'll come back to cover you!

31.

Is it possible to drift it? The RX-8 in this month's ‘Unexpected Machine’ feature seems to be mainly a show car and may not drift often, so perhaps it's fine. But if I drift frequently, I'm worried the doors won't be strong enough, or that the body will flex and the panel gaps won't line up. You don't have to print this, but please answer. KARA_AKI33. ★ Here's a secret: the FC3S driven by Drift Samurai, who competed in D1GP two years ago (and is entered again this year), has gull-wing doors! You can get in through the side opening, so you don't often see them raised, but that car has been hit and driven hard over and over without a problem. So it should be fine! Besides, even a car without gull-wing doors can develop misaligned panels or frame damage if you drift it hard enough. Though that only matters if you can drive it that hard!

Last year I found one of these mysterious egg-shaped objects while changing a tire. This time it seemed upgraded: I couldn't crush it by hand, and when I threw it on the floor it landed with a hard clack…
