Setting up a course with ‘something’ to use as pylons is a good way to improve your skills. Since you are doing it, why not use more authentic items? Various makers sell pylons, but Team Tetsujin's Curve System especially boosts the atmosphere. It is divided into red and white, so any space can look like a circuit; combine the parts to create corners with different radii.

A guardrail so realistic it is uncanny!
One diorama item worth buying is a guardrail. ABC Hobby's ‘Men at Work’ series is impressively realistic in both scale and color. Use it as an outer wall for your course or display it beside your favorite machine!
Just placing it beside your car raises the excitement. It is made of resin, so it is easy to modify and can even help recreate a memorable crash scene! The ends have the same shape as real guardrails and are fixed with screws. One set is 470 mm long, about the length of a body; connect several to extend it. Price: ¥1,155.
A super-realistic metal version is now available from Machiya!
Besides course-making gear, there are several items for enjoying a diorama, especially ‘guardrails’ and ‘tire racks.’ Guardrails can define a course or add atmosphere when photographing a car. A tire rack can be used as a pit-service prop and can also be displayed beside a drift-RC car in a small space—
Practical training with corner markers!
Machiya's guardrail is made of mesh metal. If you crash into it, you get a realistic sound (which might be a little sad!), and you can bend it to match the corner radius. It is 80 mm long and costs ¥2,940. Made from 1 mm hard aluminum, it has posts fastened with M6 bolts. It comes painted, giving it a true-to-scale look.

SOKMO
Racing mini pylons Price: ¥1,029 (set of 6) Familiar 1/10-scale pylons. They are ideal as markers for driving, but unfortunately they stand taller than the car body, so they do not feel scale-accurate.

Mini pylons
(8 pieces)
This was made for Yokomo's 1/16-scale cars. It is shorter than the 1/10-scale version.
Some circuits now have diorama areas and realistic garage setups that make good places for photos. Even if you are not confident enough to drive on a circuit yet…
…it is still worth visiting just to look at the course layout.
Yokomo
EXceed Tire Stand Price: ¥2,940 (plain version) Colors: black, blue, red The sign section folds down so you can hold the tires and carry the stand. The version with EXceed lettering costs ¥3,150; a custom version with your own logo is available for ¥3,750, with a minimum order of four.
Corner Dot Mini Price: ¥1,680 (set of 5) A staple at R/C circuits, this type is called a ‘deco pylon.’ Yokomo's Corner Dot Mini has a rubber edge, so it does not move when a car touches it.
Make event displays realistic too!
Elsinore Chain Barrier Price: ¥2,520 This turns almost any storage area into an exhibition venue! The set includes enough chain to surround a car, plus dedicated posts and base plates. Put red carpet underneath and it is complete.
Dioramas are becoming popular at circuits around the country!
D-RANGE (Miyagi Prefecture) A garage diorama is recreated and the display is excellent. Items such as the toolboxes inside are mostly Snap-on accessories for miniature cars. Their scale is not quite right, but the atmosphere is superb—you will want to line up your cars and take photos!
Team Tetsujin Pit Flag Price: ¥1,000 Flags are showing up at large drift events, not just dress-up shows. It is properly sized for 1/10 scale. Why not use it as a starting point for a team flag?
R
(Saitama Prefecture)
Hobby Garage It has an original gas station. The lineup of cars waiting to drive creates a great atmosphere. There is even a pedestrian bridge, making this a richly detailed diorama circuit.
