The 3.1-liter stroker and Garrett T04R make this a 580-PS build, but the suspension is equally serious: Ohlins shocks paired with TRD springs in a custom setup to put that power to the ground. This car has a pedigree too—it was displayed at Katano Shokai’s booth at the Nagoya Performance Car Show last year, with not a detail out of place… [text continues].

A 3.1-liter 7M-GT with a T04R turbo. Despite the M-series engine’s old design, it produces a formidable 580 PS and has the potential to cut down newer machines!

12.

Ito used to drag race an ST185. “I chose this Supra because I fell in love with its body lines. It is basically a drag build, but it is fun to wrestle its understeer through corners too!”

It is fully equipped with fuel controllers, a fuel-pressure gauge, and even an air/fuel-ratio meter. They are neatly integrated into the dashboard, which is a nice touch.

With this much power, a front-mount intercooler is essential. The bumper has been cut to draw in as much cool air as possible.

The key to tuning the 7M!

If you increase power, replacing the head gasket is a must!

The standard 7M-GT made 230 PS, but its turbo has considerable capacity… [sentence continues].

21.

Even a stock-bottom-end setup can make roughly 350 PS. But the stock gasket is weak and fails easily, so replace it with a metal gasket. Also, even with only an air-filter and muffler upgrade, boost around 0.8–1.0 kg/cm² can trigger fuel cut. Disable the boost-cut function through the main ECU.
