The car boasts high performance while retaining everyday usability. Nearly 400 hp at 1.4 kg/cm² of boost may not seem extraordinary on paper, but achieving 284 km/h in a street-driven car while maintaining durability is impressive. For the top-speed test, the suspension was set firmly, while the rear spring rate was made slightly softer to smooth abrupt rear breakaway in corners as power increased. The engine and transmission mounts were upgraded, and the complete street-oriented setup was balanced to a high standard.

It still has power to keep accelerating. The body has been carefully stiffened with a seven-point roll cage and reinforced floor-frame members. The rear subframe and strut towers have also been strengthened. Only with this level of body rigidity, the article says, can an engine-swapped car aim to exceed 200 mph.
The key to a top-speed-tuned PS13!
If you’re making big power, increase the body rigidity!
The S13 body cannot honestly be called especially rigid. Even so…
At low power, rigidity may not be a major concern. But a top-speed car produces enormous power, and even a small lack of stiffness can cause unexpected behavior or keep the car from responding as intended. If you plan to raise power substantially, first improve rigidity with a roll cage, tower bars, and reinforced suspension mounts.
The RB26DETT is fitted with HKS 87 mm pistons, cams, crankshaft, and connecting rods, plus two GT3037S turbos, producing 750 hp.
