The suspension uses Seiken coilovers with 8 kg/mm springs. This highly unusual car may be an S13—or perhaps not. Its body is actually an export-market 240SX, normally fitted with a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter engine. But the engine bay contains a V6! The owner wanted to build a manual-transmission car with a VQ engine (used in models such as the Y33). The result has more torque than the CA and power that comes in at lower rpm than the SR.

Takahashi modified 240SX
Eighty-Sil?
Left-hand drive?
Convertible? V6 engine????
Owner Takahashi wanted a car that would really stand out…
…engine.
The power-operated soft top unlocks and opens at the touch of a button. Now that feels luxurious!
The compact VQ engine fits in the S13 engine bay. A Haltech computer is used, and the turbo has been changed to a T04B.

Gathering!
Kanemaru PS13 Silvia. Its all-rounder-style hood bulge clears the four throttle bodies.
Tanaka PS13 Silvia, with six exhaust outlets…
The tail lamps and garnish are adapted from a JZX90 Mark II and extended. The car has a one-off six-exit exhaust; there are no dummy pipes.
Quarter-mile setup
…and 20-inch wheels
Owner Hideshi Tanaka is strongly committed to never doing what everyone else is doing.
The front lip has been extended by 20 mm, and the front ride height is as low as possible…
…is fitted.
Although built for the quarter-mile, this PS13 puts appearance first. The rear has been widened with fenders and overfenders by about 120 mm per side. It wears 10J×20-inch wheels and 255/35-20 tires. Small wheels in front and huge ones at the rear create a Choro-Q toy-car look throughout.
The overfenders are from an S30Z. The side vents beside the headlights were reportedly found at a home-improvement store.
A well-rounded all-rounder…
The S13 hood, refined over seven years, has a raised section to clear the four throttle bodies…
A T300 turbo is fitted, and the engine has been strengthened with parts including Pulsar GTi-R pistons. The four-throttle setup is intended to improve low- and midrange response. At 1.2 kg/cm² of boost it produces about 350 hp.
The molds were made from fiberglass and shaped with body filler. The result is highly original yet balanced rather than one-sided tuning.
Owner Tomoyuki Kanemaru believes in using whatever parts can be made to work…
…he says.
