Young Version — April 1998

The crystal boom has been heating up, as reported in weekly magazines, but an even more mysterious and powerful stone has now been discovered, creating a sensation in the media: the Royal Crystal. The ad claims it has 30 times the power of an ordinary crystal, drawing out dormant potential and bringing incredible miracles to its wearer. It says users are increasing rapidly and that top athletes and celebrities are also embracing it. The company says it obtained a supply through a special source. It describes the stone as extremely rare and unavailable elsewhere, and urges readers to wear this prized object, once reserved for Egyptian queens, and experience its great power.

The ad says ancient Egyptian royal families prized this mysterious gemstone and believed wearers would remain secure for generations. It cites ancient records about queens finding love and realizing their wishes. It describes the Royal Crystal as a rare stone formed when ordinary crystal changes through crystalline plasma, and claims experiments found its power to be about 30 times stronger. It further says the stone’s mysterious power has fueled disputes among ambitious people, and that scholars and research institutes have studied it. The copy also claims that hospitals in the United States have used it for stress relief and healing, and that it can help with love, wishes, and dream interpretation.

The ad says wearers have reported good luck, finding a partner, passing entrance exams, recovering from illness, succeeding at work, finding money, relief from stress, and marrying someone they love. It presents these as miraculous experiences and says the stone is backed by supposed mystical tradition and experimental results rather than being a simple lucky charm. It claims the Royal Crystal can completely change your fate and help fulfill your hopes, wishes, and desires.

The advertisement says ancient Egyptians could not have known the scientific theory behind the stone, yet would have been amazed by the miracles they saw. The company says it obtained the Royal Crystal through its own distribution network and made it into elegant accessories. It calls this the earth’s most powerful gemstone, said to have produced miracles from ancient times to the present, and says this is the first chance to buy it in Japan.
