●Type III front bumper: the lower duct is smaller and has one horizontal slat in the center. The indicators sit at the same height as the duct, slightly lower. ●Type III headlights: like the earlier type, there are two projector lamps on each side, with halogen fog lamps on the inside. Fine vertical slits surround the lights. Type III grille: earlier grilles were long and narrow, but this one breaks away from that look and is divided into two large sections. The grille surround is silver-chrome plated for a more upscale appearance.

●Type II front bumper: the indicators are in the same position as on Type I, but the bumper duct is divided horizontally and is narrower. ●Type II headlights: like Type I, the main lamps are projectors. The illustration shows rectangular halogen lamps. A31s were available with halogen headlights across Types I, II, and III. The cornering lights are the same as on Type III. ●Type II grille: the Type I grille duct is combined into one long, narrow opening.

●Type I front bumper: the indicators are at both ends of the bumper. The lower duct is divided into three sections, with a large opening in the center. ●Type I headlights: distinctive projector lamps, two on each side, with halogen fog lamps on the inside. This time we’re featuring the much-anticipated A31 Cefiro. Since it’s the popular four-door model, this should be useful if you’re thinking of buying one. Look closely and you’ll notice differences. The A31 went on sale in 1988 and received two minor updates. In this feature we divide them into Types I, II, and III.
