You know how people say, ‘The body is a temple,’ right? For me, decorating and modifying my own body became that passion. It's close to collecting, in a way. I'll explain in detail later what body decoration involves; for now, as an introduction, here's a quick look at what it's like. If this interests you, look forward to future installments. I hope to bring you plenty of useful information. See you next month!

This is a one-of-a-kind ‘new school’ tattoo, done without transferring a stencil. I wanted a small animal, but after giving the idea a twist, it turned into this funny design (laughs).

Hello, D-CAR readers! Nice to meet you...

19.

I was asked, ‘Would you like to do a regular feature?’ and I said yes. Thanks for having me! If you're wondering, ‘Who is this?’—this introduction is for you. So, let's get started!

23.

Megumi's profile: A committed specialist in body piercings, tattoos, body decoration, and modification, well known in that scene. She has written for BURST and GON. She has even been questioned by police after streaking.

30.

...you start wanting something that's uniquely yours.

31.

I collect three kinds of body art: tattoos, body piercings, and scarification. Scarification has been featured in many places lately, so I bet lots of people are curious about it.

35.

Even there...

34.

Body piercings can go in some surprising places! And Megumi has more than just these... (Editor's note: the rest can't be shown in the magazine.)

And the tongue...

36.

It's the lips!

39.

A hole in the ear!

41.

I have it set up in two tiers, with one through my tongue and another between my lower lip and chin. The tongue bar is larger; the ball at the end is 6 mm, and the hole itself is 4 mm.

40.

Don't be put off thinking, ‘Whoa, that's a huge hole!’ I'm stretching it gradually because I want to wear organic jewelry made from natural materials.

43.

Scarification is suddenly all the rage! This is made by deliberately cutting the skin and then letting the wound become infected on purpose. But beginners, don't try doing this yourselves!

Spade

48.

Lucas made this design for me, just as he pleased. When I asked him what it was, all he said was, “An image!” So what did I get tattooed?

47.

Lately, the thing I'm most hooked on is this—you can see it in the photo. It's called body suspension: needles are passed directly through your skin, or rather your flesh, and you hang suspended. To ordinary people it must look pretty extreme! But it really gets me high!

51.

ANT-KOR

50.

I had this spade-themed scar on my stomach done by Lucas, a well-known scar artist. He called it the “Death Card.”
