The base is also available in polished aluminum, and the raised grip buttons come in red, blue, yellow, or black. The pedals are universal and can be used on cars other than the Civic. For the accelerator, attach the mounting bracket over the original pedal and screw it in place. The other pedals simply fit over the originals and secure with screws—easy.
Ractive also offers shift boots, so we decided to install one. This model combines a chrome-plated trim plate with a carbon-look boot for a stylish finish. Versions are available for the Civic, Integra, and other cars. They are designed for left-hand-drive models, so conversion takes a little extra work: before installation, remove the boot from its screw-fastened plate...
First remove the boot from its plate, turn the chrome plate over, and reassemble it for right-hand-drive use. To install, remove the shift knob, take off the original shift-lever boot, fit the Ractive boot over it, and screw the chrome trim plate at its base into place. With a power screwdriver, the job takes less than 10 minutes. The shiny chrome plate adds a nicely luxurious touch.
