Could it become popular in America too? This S15 is a super-heavy custom, built throughout as a drift-style show-off sport compact by the Super Autobacs Toda shop. There are too many highlights to count, from exterior to interior, but the wide-body conversion and audio-visual setup are immediate knockouts. The rear hatch conversion is so natural it’s easy to miss: although it began as a Silvia, it now has a shape reminiscent of a 180SX.

The final-generation S15 Silvia became extremely popular as a specialized rear-wheel-drive car. In stock form, of course, it has a trunk and a coupe body.

The hood with air outlets is by C-West. The body is finished in Chroma Illusion paint.

The dashboard and center console are custom-built from scratch, with monitors and auxiliary meters integrated seamlessly.

The stock body was extensively modified, joining an acrylic panel to the trunk to create a hydraulically damped hatchback. Incredible work!

This ‘Sound Dock Special’ AV system is finished to show-car standards. Every component—from amplifiers and subwoofers to the monitors—has been positioned with careful planning. This installation is possible only because the car was converted to a hatchback.
