The leading naturally aspirated power booster. Unlike high-efficiency tuning methods that can leave the engine weak at low rpm or make idle unstable, an N₂O system can keep stock-like behavior during normal driving and deliver rapid acceleration when needed. It activates only at full throttle, avoiding waste (controllers can also provide staged injection). N₂O is supplied in three main configurations, shown at left. Each requires proper adjustment of the gas, fuel, and air mixture. Because combustion pressure rises dramatically, incorrect settings can destroy the engine.
Dry shot. N₂O is injected directly into the air intake and drawn into the engine. The design is simple, and it can often run without changing settings. The trade-off is a smaller power gain, generally up to around 20. The amount injected can be changed by replacing the main jet inside the shark nozzle; broadly speaking, more injection means more power.

The new NOS Zle system has been released. Its nozzle fits between the injection system and intake manifold, delivering a direct shot to each port. With large-capacity solenoids, it can reportedly add a reliable 50 PS even to Civic-class cars. It costs ¥200,000 without the bottle—a bargain for the effect! Branch point
The solenoid valves for both NOS and fuel have been enlarged. Tom Craft’s GT-R uses these components as it aims for 1,000 PS!
A major improvement is the use of flexible hoses to carry fuel and NOS to the nozzle. This greatly increases routing flexibility.

N₂O
A computer-controlled accumulator keeps boost pressure at the optimum level at all times.
With a tank of this capacity, one fill of N₂O lasts for roughly 20 quarter-mile runs.

A nozzle is installed just ahead of the supercharger unit. N₂O is injected from this point.
The system also sprays N₂O onto the supercharger unit to provide a cooling effect.
Kit and more
The supercharger mounted on top of the engine protrudes through the hood. Its pulley and turbine sections remain visible while running. A matching hood is also available for sale.
