…is the key to a serious power boost. To get the most out of the system, they chose a wet shot for N₂O delivery. HKS F-CON V Pro adjusts the fuel mixture and ignition timing. The car also has an NCS made by Unfinity Development. It replaces conventional relay-based electrical control of the N₂O and fuel solenoids with semiconductor control. This reduces lag during quick throttle changes, such as shifts, from about 0.3 seconds to nearly zero, helping prevent abnormal combustion. With these finely tuned controls, the driver can manage 410 horsepower and 60 kg-m of torque at will.
Choosing wheel diameter! ‘For an Evo, 17-inch stock-size wheels are better for street driving, but bigger wheels look cool too. When we choose wheels for drag events, we first consider the tire compound and drag slicks—what tires we’ll use. We match that to launch speed and other needs. In other words, changing the gear ratio helps put the engine in its power band,’ says Tazawa.

The covered switch at right is the main switch. The one to its left operates a heater that warms the N₂O bottle; the switch in front is for purging air.
The NX bottle is installed in the trunk. Its mirror finish looks both functional and beautiful. G-Force can tune the system as well.

…and…
…has achieved it!
The solenoid valves supply fuel and N₂O. From the left are the fuel and N₂O valves; the small valve at right purges air that can enter during the first injection.
Below is the NCS (Nitro Control System, ¥26,000), made by Unfinity Development (TEL 048-294-6161).
With NX, a controller, and fuel tuning, this power unit produces 410 horsepower—70 hp above stock. And this is a commuter car!
