Our most popular and most recommended offering is the B20B modified to 2,100 cc. We take the B20B engine used in models such as the Stepwgn and S-MX, fit it with our original pistons and other components, and increase displacement to 2,100 cc. This is a special engine with torque across the rev range far beyond the B18C; its precise assembly gives it the feel only a tuned engine can deliver. Despite being tuned, it is not difficult to drive and requires no special maintenance. Its strong torque makes city driving much easier. The engine is assembled after an overhaul (cylinder work), so it is delivered in nearly new condition; please break it in. With this engine installed, the 3-door hatchback SiR becomes .
The appeal of the B16B swap is its punch at high rpm, among the best in the B-series. The surge after VTEC switches over is thrilling. It becomes just as quick as the Civic SiR 3-door hatchback with its B16 engine . An affordable upgrade to 1,800 cc is also possible because many parts are shared. The factory red cylinder head also gives the engine bay a major visual upgrade, and an IMPACT Racing computer comes standard!
This is an entry-level package for a serious sport compact. The price is reasonable, but the performance for the money is excellent; the car will feel completely different from its former stock-engine, automatic-transmission setup. Anyone can feel the change. The pull and engine sound at high revs, among other things, deliver satisfaction well beyond the price. It also looks great with the hood open. There is a wide range of aftermarket parts, so you can keep enjoying upgrades after the swap. Further upgrades to the B18C or our B20B 2,100 cc build are also available. IMPACT normally keeps B16A engines in stock, so the work can be completed in five days to one week after the car arrives. A loaner car is available free of charge; please ask us.
