  11. Shino Koba specializes in work that ordinary garages struggle with, from engine and transmission swaps to maintenance and repairs. Many of you may be hearing the name for the first time, but this shop is unusual. First, its president and two mechanics have distinctive backgrounds. President Murai is a former rally driver who has lived overseas. Workshop manager Ota comes from rally mechanics and has WRC experience. The other mechanic is D1 driver Minowa. Doesn't sound ordinary, does it? There isn't a fixed tuning menu; the shop's strength is ingenuity and ideas that make cars run properly. Its motto is “As inexpensive as possible, without breaking.” The staff focus on extracting performance from what a car already has without spending much money, making the shop something of a refuge for young street drivers. Support for drifting is strong, too. When Murai sees a determined drifter, she wants to help, and apparently often supports them without worrying about profit so they can drive hard even with little money. In return, supported drivers help the shop through website creation or part-time work, making for a good relationship. Hearing this, you can understand how homelike

  13. the shop is. They regularly hold track days, so enter one if you'd like to meet this unusual staff. They bring a tire changer, welding equipment and a [equipment name damaged] to prepare thoroughly for problems. Even attending alone should feel reassuring. “Whatever happens, we try to make it possible for you to drive home under your own power”—exactly the care you'd expect from a former rally driver!
