  1. Drift Tengoku Cefiro diary
  2. A few days after last month's drivetrain trouble, our Drift Tengoku Cefiro successfully qualified in D1Round5.The new LSDMasuda fitted the day before qualifying seems to be working brilliantly. What is Nismo's proud GTLSDPro actually like? For readers considering an LSD,Kawasaki—who has lately all but made the Cefiro his own car—reports responsibly! 11. Excellent locking effect
  12. Excellent response too
  13. I worried about using a1.5-way for the first time, but driving it felt almost entirely natural. My main concern was whether the swap would make my drifting worse.Nismo's GTPro can be assembled as1.5-way or2-way,but for some reason Masuda assembled it as1.5-way.Taking it apart again was a nuisance,so we decided to try it as is for a while.I was still a little apprehensive. 14. The modified factory diff previously fitted was2-way.We assembled this one with the middle of its three initial-torque settings,8kg,which also intrigued me.The old one had such strong initial torque—probably over10kg—that it cracked and chattered at intersections.I wondered whether this brand-new diff might feel less effective than the old one.The conclusion:absolutely fine! 15. Aftermarket equipment really is good! There is almost no clutch-plate chatter, yet it locks properly. When turning slowly from a T-junction,the rear tires make a scraping sound that clearly says the diff is working.Strange given the low initial torque—perhaps it is the response. It felt convincing even on the street. For the full test at Ebisu's North Course,I felt confident as soon as I entered.Locking responds directly to the throttle:the more you press, the more it works. It readily spins the well-treaded17-inch R-Spectires even from low speed.The1.5-way action I worried about felt almost entirely natural.Lifting off gives slightly less slide than2-way,but the rear does not abruptly straighten. On deceleration transitions, such as an opposite-direction entry to turn1,it can feel a little short on angle, but that also makes an excessive-angle spin less likely.Correcting the shallower angle with steering or the handbrake may even have broadened my technique!I drove happily for about30minutes in total;locking stayed consistent and I found no negatives. At this rate,I can keep using it.Thank you,Nismo!
