All…

11.

You have to stand out at Gakudori, so I painted it myself! I used regular lacquer spray paint, 30 cans at ¥200 each including clear coat, for a total of just ¥6,000! I also spent ¥800 on four used wheels. I painted the hubs silver, too.

Even an FRP lip gets scraped and damaged, so I stuck urethane cushions from a home-improvement store on with double-sided tape. They come in three sections, so if one part disappears, it’s easy to repair right away!

20.

The cleanly painted front NC-10R belongs to Yamada from the same automotive club. Everyone in the club helped, and they finished it in three hours for just under ¥10,000.

When I tried it, it was surprisingly…

…look at it from a distance…

It turned out pretty well. The rear spoiler was attached by slotting the coilover bracket and fitting it that way.

I crashed and broke the headlights, so I forced parts from the FD I used to own onto the car. They don’t look too out of place, and the lights actually work—better than having nothing! The side reflectors are from the FD, too.

The customization course shows its true skills!

I kept only the stock frame and made the outer surface from fiberglass. It’s a Brid-style bonnet, lighter than stock! I spent eight hours painting it with an airbrush. I was going for a summer look—what do you think?

I thought you had only painted it, but…

59.

I was surprised to hear you made the whole bonnet yourself. It doesn’t look like your first time using an airbrush.

64.

This is definitely…

It fits…

He added heart-shaped endplates cut from plywood on top of the endplates of an aftermarket GT wing. With a student drift car, standing out is the point. This should win over both the crowd and the judges!

Everyone calls him ‘Golgo,’ but he’s surprisingly sentimental. His friends in Meijo University’s auto club used to say, ‘Those wing endplates…’

People used to say it ‘didn’t suit the character,’ but…

78.

The rim is just under the width of a pack of cigarettes—about 8 cm. And each wheel costs only ¥10,000!

76.

I painted the spokes of my Hatchiroku’s wheels yellow for its USDM look! They’re AutoWay AW-241s, 15 inches by 8J, offset 0. They were only ¥10,000 each new—cheap and cool!

81.

The center caps were included, too. Apparently the black parts of the outer rim were painted that way from the factory.

72.

You wouldn’t even know it was one!
