A burned-out tail-lamp bulb can give following drivers the wrong information at night, so pay attention to it. Replacing a tail-lamp bulb is not very difficult, so don't put it off; fix it as soon as it burns out. The job is done from inside the trunk. Look at the back of the tail-lamp lens and you'll see a cutout in the trim that acts like a small cover. Open it to remove the socket. Use a replacement bulb with the same wattage as the burned-out one; the wattage is printed on the bulb. Pull the bulb from its socket and replace it. Easy, right? Fixing a burned-out bulb promptly helps keep you safe.

Electrical components all have fuses. Fuses normally don't blow very often, but they are a safety device that will blow if there is an electrical problem or if something shorts while you are installing a part. It's like the breaker at home tripping when you use too much electricity. If a fuse does blow, first... There are usually two fuse boxes: one for engine-related circuits and one for the cabin's electrical components...

The fuse-box diagram shows which fuse is located where.

6.

Replacement is very easy. A burned-out bulb looks bad, too.

8.

Open the small access window with a tool to reach the bulbs. Remove the brake-light and turn-signal bulbs. The brake light shares a bulb with the tail lamp, which has two filaments.

9.

Replace the license-plate lamp if it burns out too. If you leave it out, the police may stop you. Replacing it is basically the same as changing the tail-lamp bulb.

...inside the car.

17.

The engine-related fuse box is in the engine compartment, and the other is inside the cabin. A diagram on each fuse-box cover shows which fuse belongs to which component, making it easy to find.

Use the supplied puller to remove a fuse. When replacing it, use one with the same amperage.

24.

The cabin fuse box is near the driver's knees. Some types are shaped like vacuum tubes; others have a blade-like form, so take care when buying replacements.
