But don't forget that they are also FC specialists. Their recommended approach to FC tuning is, as representative Mr. Takeo puts it, 'to reset the car to stock condition first.' Start by bringing the standard car back to its best. For example, as FC mileage increases, a loud noise may come from the rear suspension. Replacing only the damper is not enough; you also need to address key parts such as the bushings. The shop emphasizes basic maintenance and says modifications should come only after everything is properly sorted. It sounds obvious, but think about it: a zero-quarter-mile spec or circuit setup may be fun...
...but a car that can also be used for commuting and still perform on the competition stage is the better choice. Mr. Takeo's conviction is persuasive: the shop keeps maintenance and tuning separate. As a result, each customer can improve gradually and achieve results without pushing the car too far. Wing Takeo follows that approach. It also sells serviced base cars at good prices, making it a good shop for newcomers.

The shop is known for selling many serviced base cars, not just rotary models. 'From the perspective of service, used-car sales are tough to make profitable when you factor in the cost of the maintenance menu,' Mr. Takeo said with a smile.

For FC/FD turbo selection, they prioritize low-end torque and favor a unit with high maximum airflow. Specifically, they prefer a T04R over a T88-34D. They are currently testing HKS's new GT3240 turbo. With the right exhaust manifold, it may be a strong option.
For quarter-mile runs, they prioritize traction at launch. That led them to develop the well-known RE Wing original Drag Special damper, a height-adjustable suspension based on the HKS Hyper Damper. It is set up for drivers who launch using a half-clutch technique. They also work with FD owners...
