Dear everyone at the editorial office, I always enjoy reading the magazine. I’m writing because I have a problem: I’ve started pouring a lot of money into tuning. My family and the people I ride with say I’m turning my car into a “bosozoku” car, and I’m beginning to worry about spending hundreds of thousands of yen even though I’m happy with the changes. Thinking about the future, I want to learn how to tune without spending so much. I’ve already installed things like an air cleaner, tower bar, and brake pads myself. I’d love a simple “sticker tune,” so please send me a YV sticker. I work maintaining Shinkansen tracks and as a train driver. Until last year I was Japan’s youngest train driver… I keep getting older while my money keeps shrinking. That’s life, I guess! (Some OCR in this letter is damaged.)
Nice to meet you. I’m a boy who wants to become a street racer. Before my older brother started driving an 180SX, we hardly talked about cars. But once he got it, I thought it looked really cool. Several of his friends are street racers, and it seems my brother sometimes goes to watch them. I want to get my license soon and become a street racer, too. Please send me a sticker! The 180SX is the best! (Hiroshima City)
Hello, YV editors. I enjoy reading the magazine. My car is an AE… hatchback with a 5-speed manual. I bought it new three years ago and have carefully kept it mostly stock. Recently I changed to an APEX muffler. I expected a big difference, but it seems the muffler I chose emphasizes low- and mid-range torque and makes the car easier to drive. (The OCR is heavily damaged in parts; details are uncertain.)

That’s cool! Tuning isn’t only about spending money. Figuring things out is part of the fun.

Matsugon: The sound matters, too. Even just changing the muffler makes you feel like you’ve tuned the car. I’m going to keep doing my best!
“My older brother is getting an 180SX.” Dear YV editors and readers,
Please send two, if possible… (fragment; OCR uncertain)
I’ll put one on my brother’s car and one on the car I buy.
I’ll stick them on.
Matsugon: It’d be fun if the two of you could cruise together. Once you get your license, will your own car be an 180SX?

Of course—the sticker is a gift!
