Hello, YV editors. Nice to meet you. I finally got my license on February 26 last year after a lot of trouble. I needed seven extra lessons and failed both the provisional and final driving tests. Some instructors gave me confusing advice like “Hold the steering wheel as if it were a woman!” and “You’re not bad at driving, but you’re not good either,” then told me to concentrate. I finally got my precious license, but I don’t have a car, money, or a job, so I’m becoming a paper driver. I’m seriously looking for work, though it’s hard to find. Once I save enough, I’ll probably buy a Civic Type R or an AE86.

Hello, YV editors. I’m a second-year middle-school student and an aspiring street racer who admires the JZX100 Chaser. Something sad but exciting happened: I went to buy YV at a convenience store, then visited a tuning shop and saw a YV sticker for sale. I opened my wallet to buy one, but… I couldn’t afford it. Please give a sticker to this poor kid! P.S. A friend said I look like Tsuchiya. (Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture; “future drift king”) Matsugon: We’ll send you a YV sticker—and it’s a special one that isn’t sold in stores. Show it off to everyone!

One problem is that there aren’t many parts available. I’d like to adapt parts for the EG6 or EK9 and eventually build something like a Civic Ferio Type R. I don’t know when it’ll be finished, but I’ll send a photo when it is. If anyone knows of parts from other models that fit the EG9, please tell me. (Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture; formerly “Black Lightning,” now “VTEC V”)

Hello, YV editors. I wasn’t very interested in cars until I found YV, but now I love them. I drive an ordinary sedan, and I’m thinking of buying an S14 Silvia. I want to use YV as my guide and make it look cool. Please keep up the great work! (Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture; “I’m going to buy a Silvia!”) Matsugon: What a lovely letter. Thanks for your support!

Hello, YV. I’m “Black Lightning,” whose car appeared here before. My AE92 was totaled in an accident. I was depressed for 23 days and wondered whether to repair it…

In the end I decided to change cars. I’d grown attached to the AE92 after gradually changing its muffler, air cleaner, and suspension. Now I drive a 1995 Civic Ferio SiR (EG9). I chose the EG9 because I wanted to experience VTEC, and there are only about 23 in Sasebo, where I live.

26.

VTEC is great: it revs happily to high RPM, and the sound and acceleration after the cam switches are fantastic. I can’t help pressing the accelerator. I understand why so many front-wheel-drive fans support the Civic and CR-X. The EG9 needs model-specific tuning parts… (letter continues; source/OCR is cut off)

It also has a Garage H aero kit, intercooler, and harness installed. The number plate even reads “180.” I made a mistake and mounted the brake calipers facing the wrong way… The camera used for this photo costs hundreds of thousands of yen!
