About this issue

The August 1999 issue of Young Version explores drift setups versus grip tuning through 22 shop demo cars, including S15 Silvias from Mine’s and Kazama Auto. Features cover front-wheel-drive builds taking on high-powered 4WD rivals, choosing a first drift car, and reviving a used AE86 Trueno on a ¥1 million total budget. Suspension fundamentals, engine-oil selection, rotary maintenance, new-parts tests, and reports from Hiroshima and California round out this look at Japan’s late-1990s tuning scene.

GReddy intercooler kits: internal fins in the core tubes balance improved cooling efficiency with reduced pressure loss. For each vehicle there is a broad range, from stock-replacement kits suitable for light tuning to front-mounted types for fully tuned turbo and engine applications (some vehicles excepted). GReddy TZ turbo kit: a convenient bolt-on kit for the stock exhaust manifold of the SR20DET in the S14/S15 Silvia. At 1.1 kg/cm² boost it produces over 300 hp, delivering response and acceleration across the entire rev range that the stock turbo cannot provide.
