Kanagawa is known for having a large number of formidable teams. Everyone got fired up at the idea of deciding who was number one in such a competitive region. Teams from other prefectures also entered after hearing about the event, making the competition intense. This was the fourth running. Winning could bring a team into the ranks of the famous clubs, so everyone took it seriously. There were both individual and team events, which naturally got the spectators excited.
