Message from Kazuhiro Miyata, president of Prestige: ‘We received a postcard directly from the club president. He says: “Our Prestige club is active from Kyushu to Hokkaido. We own a bB tuned to over 230 km/h, a 14-series Aristo capable of over 300 km/h, and a fully tuned and balanced N2-spec S13 Silvia that holds the Autopolis circuit-course record. If you're interested, visit us online now—you may meet new friends!”’
Although I feel like I haven't fully enjoyed summer, I did make the most of the break in my B13 Sunny. Around the time the September issue came out, the TV reported that the rainy season in Tohoku had ended without an official declaration, which made me a little sad. But reading D-CAR, I felt encouraged: ‘Iwate may be a bit chilly, but the sport-compact scene is heating up!’ I was also excited that The Fast and the Furious 2 would be released after the Obon holidays. I missed the first film because work was so busy, so I watched it on rental video. That's why I absolutely want to see the new one on the big screen! Recently I stopped at a used-CD shop after work to browse Eurobeat and soundtrack albums. I spotted the Fast and the Furious soundtrack for ¥780 and thought, ‘That's it!’ But I was also tempted by the Initial D Super Eurobeat series and stood there debating for more than five minutes. In the end, I chose the cheaper Fast and the Furious soundtrack. Back in my car, I took it out to listen and found a ¥580 sticker underneath the ¥780 one. Was it because the release was coming up, or because its popularity had exploded? The price had gone up by ¥200! Still, I'm happy to have the soundtrack. EDITOR: Did you get to see Fast and the Furious 2 in the theater? It really is more exciting on the big screen!

This month's postcard is from Hayate in Aomori. EDITOR: His wife is worried about the ride comfort. But don't worry—there's no need to be so concerned.
Even without a car or a driver's license, we have dreams! That's right—we're lively under-18s! We may not have skills or money yet, but we're overflowing with love for sport compacts!

UNDER
Someday I'm going to own an EJ7 Civic Coupe! Then I'll surprise everyone in my hometown of Tomakomai, where hardly anyone drives a sport compact...
I got into sport compacts after watching The Fast and the Furious. I don't have a license yet, but my dream is to own an RX-7 FD3S. I'll make it my car someday! (FD Mania, Mie Prefecture)
I love cars, and I discovered sport compacts through The Fast and the Furious—I was hooked instantly! I'm 14 now, and I can't wait to get my license and build a car worthy of D-CAR. I want to make my favorite car, a four-door Integra with pop-up headlights, into a JDM-style Type R! And I'll build a Supra like the one in Fast and Furious too!
...yeah!
(Taku, 15, Hokkaido)
(14 years old)
Keep it up, young guys! Start by saving your money. Big sis is watching over you from the telephone pole, so don't let Mom swipe your New Year's gift money! Heh-heh.
(Teru, 14, Gifu Prefecture)
passion
...that's right!!
To be honest, I...
...more than anyone...
At least my passion...
I won't lose!!
You've got plenty of spirit! Tell us all about those burning dreams of yours...
I put a GT wing on my Legnum, made the canards myself, and recently installed neon tubes (from a ‘Doraemon’ piggy bank, maybe?). Next I'll add a bucket seat and NOS! ...Though it's still a family car, and as a dad of two, that's probably as far as I can go.
Because we love sport compacts more than food—yeah!!
...go on!
Is an FD not suited to sport compacts? You don't see many, do you? Still, I'm definitely going to turn my silver FD into a sport compact!
(Mā-kun, Osaka Prefecture)
That's right—it's all about spirit and love! Money isn't the issue...probably.
(Rinriku Papa, Okayama Prefecture)
...though...
If you give up, it's over! Keep going, Dad! I'm making this promise to Z so I won't back down. Listen up: before the end of this year, I'm absolutely going to install NOS or convert to gullwing doors!
maybe
1. Please keep including special stickers. 2. I want the magazine on video/DVD. 3. I'd like a series showing a car gradually transformed from stock to sport compact. 4. Please hold an FF drift event at the D-CAR Civic!
(Bombay, Saitama Prefecture)
I heard you loud and clear! So we'll be getting a New Year's card with photos of the NOS install or gullwing conversion, right? Heh-heh.
(Spec RSR, Yamagata Prefecture)
Boss!! The requests are piling up!
My Celica still has a bit of a student-car feel, but I'm gradually taking it to events. Someday I'll be featured in D-CAR! EDITOR: Oh, say hello if we meet at an event!
...kits and all kinds of things...
It's still a Celica that hasn't quite outgrown its student-car feel, but I'm starting to take it to events little by little. Someday it'll be in the magazine! EDITOR: Oh, say hello if we meet at an event!
We want more pages for selling cars!
(Kazu, Yamaguchi Prefecture)
A sport compact that's fun to drive really does seem like the best of both worlds—style and performance!
