As many readers already know, the hard-hitting 2,100 cc setup can be driven in fourth gear on the street. Building it requires several machining operations and parts, such as cylinder boring and full-flow work on the connecting rods; a V-TEC kit is one of those parts. The B20B engines fitted to the Stepwgn, S-MX, CR-V and other models are not V-TEC engines. V-TEC is hydraulically actuated, but the B20B block has no oil passage for V-TEC. Using Impact’s original oil passage makes V-TEC operation possible. We also offer a 2,100 cc short-block kit with dedicated pistons installed and the cylinders bored. Please call for details.
