Starting with the cute, fun New Beetle, AZ Project’s AZURITE achieves a dignified luxury look. The brand name means ‘semi-precious stone cut from the rough,’ and carries the wish that anyone can enjoy luxury without feeling intimidated. The foundation is a simple treatment of the body lines that adds volume, plus a chrome-molded aero kit. A three-piece rear wing and dual exhaust outlets on both sides complete the luxurious silhouette. A spacer converts the Beetle’s unusual PCD to the common 114.3 specification, opening up a wide choice of wheels. It may mark a new frontier for Beetle customization. The engine gets a carbon cover, and a carbon bonnet (¥98,000) is also available.
