700 hp
Shōwa Cars 2000!
3
A burnout worthy of a quarter-mile car. It reportedly ran a best of 10.8 seconds! This terrifying Hachi-Roku (Hachi-Go) can beat a GT-R in a straight line.
Daisuke Hirano of C&Y Sports says they handle everything from boost increases and turbo swaps to engine conversions, as well as roadworthiness inspections. “We’re planning to build a Hachi-Go with an RB engine next.” We can’t wait to see what kind of machine it becomes.

A straight-line champion in a small body!! 700 hp, with quarter-mile times in the 10-second range
A 60-kg ballast is placed in the trunk to help traction. Lead is also fitted on the passenger side to balance the driver’s weight. It is a little rusty and dirty, but…
A 20-point roll cage links the driver’s compartment and engine bay. Safety comes first, more than weight.
…try not to worry about that.
SASSIN
Why is there a “NISSAN” logo? It has R33 Type M brake calipers up front. The rotors are converted from a 180SX, providing stopping power for the 700 hp.
The rear tires are Toyo NT5 drag-racing tires, a huge 275/40R17. The rear fenders are rolled to fit them. Up front are ordinary 215/50R16 radial tires.
To bring out the 2JZ’s potential, the main pipe is 90 mm; the main silencer is 200 mm and the tailpipe 130 mm, giving the rear a bold look…
…that makes it look fast even from behind.

CHECK!
Too fast! It makes you laugh.
“It’s so fast, it barely feels like a Hachi-Roku. The light body accelerates well, and going flat-out in third gear is incredibly fun. It is easy to handle, so you can drive it on the street, too.”
ADVAN
RS*R
But it could use a little more traction at launch.
…the engine swap makes the front end heavier, so that can’t be helped.

Also, make more power lower in the rev range and fit a firmer suspension…
OCUTBA
“Wow—it was simply fast. This is an incredible car.”
…and it would be fun on a circuit, too.
