It measures not only speed but also your 0–400 m time. For those of us who like to drive fast, even a moment's glance away from the road can be dangerous, so it is safer to keep that movement to a minimum. This unit projects speed and tachometer readings onto the windshield. Factory systems may offer something similar, but this one has several extra functions. First, connect the speed-pulse wire and control unit to the car's computer. Wiring differs depending on whether you bypass the speed limiter, so take care. If the car has traction control, connect the engine-speed signal wire as well. Then use a tester to locate constant and illumination power and connect them to the control unit. Once everything is wired, apply the included film where you want the VSD display on the windshield. In the initial setup, set the desired speed and rpm thresholds; LEDs light when those values are reached. It can warn you when you're speeding and serve as a shift-point indicator. It also measures quarter-mile times and records top speed and best time. Other features include a clock, engine operating-time display, and trip meter. The display glows green and is easy to see even during the day.
