After plus-sizing or changing the suspension: Plus-sizing and lowering improve appearance and handling. However, they change the tire contact angle, which can reduce straight-line stability and handling. Changed contact angles can also cause uneven tire wear and shorten tire life. Correct alignment brings out the benefits of plus-sizing and lowering, while extending tire life and providing comfortable handling.

Plus-sizing means changing to a tire with a lower profile while keeping the tire’s outside diameter about the same.
